On page 11 of the textbook our beloved Leader says, "Prayer, coupled with a fervent habitual desire to know and do the will of God, will bring us into all Truth."

Like many others I was driven by my early human experience to seek an answer to the enigma of human existence; and well do I know what it is to come to that point in experience at which one prays to God with no mental reservation. At the peak of my mental turmoil and dissatisfaction with things in general, the whole situation was made much worse by a very heavy attack of hay fever, and I felt that I must have surcease from the whole condition immediately. It was then that I prayed with all my heart that I might find freedom from the aggravating experiences that did not seem worth while enduring; and from that moment of fervent prayer I believe I moved straight toward that which I was seeking. Shortly after this I decided to go to a Christian Science practitioner, a procedure which was very surprising then, for I knew nothing of practitioners or their methods, and nothing about Christian Science except from hearsay and in a very abstract way. But my decision was unhesitating, supported, I believe, by divine guidance from my prayer.

Soon after my first visit to the practitioner the seemingly great mental obstructions began to break up, things went along more easily, and the hay fever soon ceased entirely. With the help of the practitioner and diligent study I have really come to know a new heaven and a new earth.
