With an earnest desire to help others I give this testimony to the healing efficacy of Christian Science.

After about eight years of semi-invalidism, suffering from serious heart trouble, double curvature of the spine, rheumatism, neuralgia, and many other painful conditions, I was told by physicians and surgeons that they could do no more for me. With a sense of discouragement almost too great for words I sought a Christian Science practitioner; and my first words to her were, "Please do not tell me I am not sick, because I know I am." I had heard this statement made many times in regard to what Christian Science taught. She lovingly told me about God, and that He did not make me sick; that Christian Scientists believe in a God of love. This surely was a revelation to me, and I realized that my prayer was answered. I had found God. I asked for treatment, and for three months following my first visit to the practitioner my time was occupied by reading and asking questions. Like most beginners I wanted to know all of it at once. I have never ceased to be grateful for the practitioner's loving counsel during this time. She did not answer my questions, but told me to study and said that all my questions would be answered in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This counsel turned me to divine Principle, so I never had the temptation to rely on personality.

At the end of three months I was completely healed of my ills, with the exception of the spinal curvature. Several years passed before the spine was normal in appearance, but the pain entirely disappeared during the early part of the second month of treatment.
