For the understanding Christian Science has given me...
For the understanding Christian Science has given me of the real man and of true existence I am truly grateful. Every day—yes, every hour—we are called upon to take our stand and decide between the true and the seeming sense of things, and persistently to refuse to admit any thought that is not in accord with the oneness and allness of God.
I have been healed of severe sick headaches supposed to have been inherited, from which I had suffered since a little child, also of hemorrhoids and severe colds. I should like to tell of a demonstration I had more recently. A cold had caused such congestion and weakness that I lost my voice. There was no possible way to reach a practitioner, and I was alone with our two children. This particular evening the younger one, two and a half years old, asked me to sing him to sleep. I began his favorite lullaby, knowing that there is only one voice to be heard and that is the voice of Truth. At first there was no sound, but he watched my mouth for the words. In less than half an hour my voice had returned and I could sing the high notes clearly; the congestion and accompanying discomfort had vanished.
Physical healings alone are sufficient cause for gratitude; but regular and systematic study of Christian Science brings daily blessings of peace of mind, contentment, and happiness which mean even more than physical healings.
