I am very grateful for Christian Science, and to Mrs. Eddy...
I am very grateful for Christian Science, and to Mrs. Eddy for her untiring love for humanity. I appreciate her sincerity in enduring so many sacrifices in order to make plain her discovery, scientific Christianity, to a sin-sick world. My family and I have received many benefits from Mrs. Eddy's writings, especially from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures;" also from church services, students' Association meetings, and practitioners. We have had physical healings of colds, fevers, sprains, insect bites, measles, and an instantaneous healing of a severe case of yellow jaundice, in which instance a practitioner was employed.
Several years ago I experienced a nervous breakdown, accompanied by a train of distressing symptoms, including high blood pressure, constipation, abnormal heart action, catarrh, indigestion, and mental distractions. This condition lasted for several months. The fear of dying and leaving my family continually stared me in the face. Under Christian Science treatment I kept on with my housework, going in the car, and attending to the daily routine, so that only a few of my relatives and friends knew of my suffering. Since the healing of this condition I have gone on my way rejoicing, singing the beautiful hymns given in our Christian Science Hymnal, and gratefully acknowledging the omnipresence and omnipotence of God, good.
I am grateful for The Christian Science Board of Directors and everything and everyone active in the Christian Science movement. My desire is that I may be worthy of the name "Christian Scientist."
