About twenty-three years ago I turned to Christian Science for help. Since that time I have had the opportunity many times of proving the truth which Christian Science teaches. It has been my only support in rearing my children, who have had the wonderful privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. Through Christian Science I experienced a painless childbirth. Hay fever, colds, and many other diseases which the children have experienced have all been destroyed with the loving help of practitioners.

One evening when the children were playing on the floor, I lifted a pan of very hot water from the stove, and by accident it was spilled on one of them. She began to scream. I instantly requested her to declare the truth as taught in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and she was instantaneously healed; there was not even a discoloring of the flesh.

We have more recently had an experience which brought great joy to our household. Our little daughter, eight years old, had what a physician called a cancer on her lip. It became very much aggravated and occasioned many remarks from those with whom she came in contact. A Christian Science practitioner was asked to help. Notwithstanding the work that was being done, many times discouragement crept in. The physician was very anxious to operate, and said that probably he would have to cut off some of the lip. This I refused to have done, and turned more unreservedly to Christian Science, knowing that God could heal it. Oneday, about six months later, as I recalled the many beautiful healings recorded in the Bible by those who were obedient to God, I began to rejoice, knowing that I should receive the understanding to destroy this discordant condition. The statement in Science and Health (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive," brought great comfort and joy. Soon thereafter, when the child was playing, the growth fell off, and in three days the lip was perfectly healed, without even a scar. During all this time we had Christian Science treatment.
