God's Little Ones

THEY follow winged with joy, those little feet
Planted so early in the narrow way;
With tiny hands in His they go to meet
And face the passing shadows of each day.

They scarcely see the shadow for the glow
Of feeling Love so close; and mother-wise,
Love holds their vision to the shining bow
Till its pure light is mirrored in their eyes.

And we, God-called to serve Him as their guide,
May we have vision, too, the seed to sow
At all times patiently. May we abide
As close to Thee, Thy love as truly know.
