After I had read the first chapter of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

After I had read the first chapter of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, my thoughts about prayer and God were completely changed and I became hopeful that I should be healed of a depressing nervous breakdown which had enslaved me for several weeks, and which had defied two kind physicians. While I read this textbook the malady disappeared, never to return; meanwhile the instantaneous healing of a nervous chill by a loving practitioner gave me added courage. Nearly a year later her understanding and my faith made possible a complete demonstration over double pneumonia and influenza. Army physicians doubted that I should recover, but one later admitted that God had healed me.

During my school days, I had been held down by beliefs of a delicate constitution and valvular heart trouble, but with such wonderful evidence of God's love at hand, I soon established the fact that I could enjoy perfect health. For the past twelve years God has been my only physician; He has healed me of severe colds and other physical difficulties, and of a nervous temperament. I have found Him to be my supply in time of need, and when some valuable article has been lost His truth has never failed to bring about the recovery of that which had disappeared.

I know that Christian Science will heal any physical, moral, or financial problem, if rightly applied. For the many blessings it has brought to me, to my family, and to mankind, I am deeply grateful. Christian Science is the hope of humanity; therefore I deem it a privilege to assist the many activities of this movement by membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
