About seven years ago I called at a Christian Science Reading Room to borrow a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which was lovingly lent me. I studied page 91 for some time, and as I allowed my consciousness to be filled with Truth and Love I was lifted out of an unhappy situation and was also healed of low blood pressure, colitis, and an extremely nervous condition.

One of my children was healed instantly of a hemorrhage caused from severing an artery. The school nurse brought my daughter home one day and told me that she thought the child had influenza. She had a high fever and was too sick to stand up. We had been attending the Christian Science Sunday services for about six weeks. I asked the child if she wanted me to call in a doctor or if she wanted God to heal her through Christian Science treatment. She at once asked me what I would do, and I told her I knew that God would heal her if she was willing. This seemed to encourage her, so I took our textbook and read to her; then we sang verses of different hymns we could remember. In about an hour she fell asleep and slept till late in the evening, and when she awoke she was perfectly healed. This healing was a step of progress for both of us, as she was old enough to know the period of convalescence which usually follows a sickness of this kind.

Several years ago I was taken ill, and from the very first I seemed to lose all trace of time and was aroused only when some of the children needed something done for them. This condition had existed for three days, and on the third afternoon the thought of death seemed very near me. A voice kept saying to me: Awake! Work! Awake! Finally I did awaken enough to realize that God would not permit me to be taken from my children and a dear baby that had been given into my care. I began to be grateful that God knew only good and was constantly blessing His children with thoughts of health. I opened the textbook and read a short time, then fell asleep; and when I awoke I was free from that terrible condition of lack of strength and reason. I look back on this healing with gratitude, as it brought me closer to God.
