In the spring of 1929 I was stricken with an illness which was never diagnosed, and therefore I cannot give it a name. The evidence, however, was plain that it was very serious. My feet and ankles became so swollen that it was impossible for me to walk more than a few feet. Accompanying this condition there was a pain in my head that prevented sleep night or day for several weeks, except for a very few moments at intervals. I had Christian Science treatment from the beginning of this trouble, and although it was somewhat slow in yielding, never was there the slightest doubt that Christian Science would heal me. The healing did come, of course, and with it an enlarged understanding of God and His goodness, and a much greater appreciation of and gratitude for Mrs. Eddy's great work in giving to the world the revelation of Truth, as outlined in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

I have experienced the healing of a badly sprained ankle in a few hours. A fractured wrist was also healed, no material aid being administered, although an X-ray picture was made and the wrist was carried in a splint for a few days. Christian Science help was sought immediately, and after the first half hour there was no further pain. The wrist healed entirely, without the slightest stiffness.

These are just a few of the many proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science which I have had during the number of years that I have been interested in the subject. As a mother I express profound gratitude for the great privilege of having some knowledge of Christian Science with which to help my children, and for the sweet sense of peace that comes from placing them in the care of our Father-Mother God, who never fails His children. I consider it a joy and privilege to be a member of The Mother Church, to have had class instruction, and to have a small part in the work of our great Cause.
