I am very happy to have this opportunity publicly to...
I am very happy to have this opportunity publicly to express my gratitude to God for the many blessings I have received through the ministration of Christian Science. Some years ago it was brought to my attention that Christian Science is the means of overcoming all human problems. This seemed like a pretty broad statement, and I must admit that I did not accept it in its entirety at that time. Its truth, however, has subsequently been proved to me, partly through the testimonies I have heard, partly through those I have read, and partly through my own study and demonstration, until finally I am able to accept not only the truth that all things are possible to God, but also that, as Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 13), "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals."
For the past six years I have relied entirely on Christian Science, and during that period I have been healed of many physical ills, one or two of which were thought to be of a most serious nature. I have also been healed of many bad habits, the two most important being a desire for strong drink and tobacco, of which habits I had been the victim for over thirty years. Christian Science has helped me to improve my disposition, to accomplish greater success, and to seek the establishment of higher ideals, all of which has resulted in much comfort, joy, and contentment.
I am sincerely grateful to Christ Jesus, our beloved Wayshower, for his inspiring demonstrations of man's dominion; to Mary Baker Eddy, our revered Leader, for revealing to us through Christian Science the Principle of divine healing and for providing us with the many channels of instruction and loving service included in this great organization. I am also most grateful to the many friends I have made in Christian Science, and who have been so loyal and helpful to me during a trying period.
