I am very grateful for all the good that has come to me...
I am very grateful for all the good that has come to me through the study of Christian Science. I have known this Science about eight years and have received many healings, among them the healing of nervous headaches from which I had suffered for many years and which were stopping all advances for me, and of catarrh of the stomach, toothache, and the tobacco smoking habit.
The first of these healings came to me through the reading of these lines from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 261): "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts." No practitioner was employed in these instances of healing; but I am very grateful that in Christian Science we have practitioners upon whom we can call if we cannot demonstrate freedom for ourselves, and I have in different cases received wonderful help from them. But I am still more grateful for the mental liberty which is coming to me through the study of Christian Science. It has given me a better understanding of the inspired words of the Bible, a greater consciousness of love, gratitude, comfort, and happiness.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for class instruction, for the Lesson Sermons, and for all the Christian Science periodicals. But first and last I am deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who through unselfish work gave us the highest gift there is to give—Christian Science.
