That Christian Science heals and reforms those who faithfully follow its teachings is beyond question, as a visit to one of the Wednesday evening testimony meetings will readily prove. In my own experience I know that Christian Science as revealed to us by Mary Baker Eddy in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," healed and reformed my family a little over twelve years ago. My father, who was for some years a minister in an orthodox church, had to give up that position on account of sickness, and although he took medicine for several years he had received no benefit. My sister had been a semi-invalid all her life. This was the unhappy condition of my home when I returned from the war suffering from loss of memory, wounds which would not heal, and a general run-down condition. Shortly after my return home I was given Science and Health to read, and while reading it I was completely healed. I gave the book to my father and sister to read and in a very short time they were both healed. Our whole home life was changed, because we were beginning to know the "reason of the hope" that was within us, and to know that God governs.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has written in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 232): "In our age Christianity is again demonstrating the power of divine Principle, as it did over nineteen hundred years ago, by healing the sick and triumphing over death." My friends, I can bear witness to the truth of the latter statement, for in the few years that I have been interested in Christian Science I have witnessed the healing of members of my family, of my friends and acquaintances, and of men right in this institution. Some of these healings have been brought about by simply reading the Christian Science textbook. In fact, healing as the result of reading this book happened so many times that Mrs. Eddy included a chapter (the last one in the book) entitled "Fruitage," which contains about one hundred pages of letters from those healed in this manner. These letters report the healing of consumption, stomach trouble, Bright's disease, heart trouble, and cancer, as well as many others.

Lecturer: Arthur P. DeCamp; introduced by Mrs. Helena M. R. Fitz, who said: —

In days long gone by I became dissatisfied with the religious instruction which I had received, because there seemed to me to be such a great gap between Sunday and the other days of the week, as well as between the teachings regarding life hereafter and the life of today. Life was a puzzle and a mystery to me, and I frankly gave up trying to solve it and became an agnostic, feeling that it was impossible for anyone on the human plane of existence to know or to understand God.

I remained in that state of mind until a great need of physical healing brought Christian Science to my attention, and it met my need. Then I found that Christian Science closed the gap between life today and life hereafter, teaching that there is only one Life, eternal and immortal, and not temporal. I found that Christian Science is a practical religion, a logical system of metaphysics, and that, through the study of this Science, each and every one may not only believe, but prove, here and now, that God is good, and "a very present help in trouble." I found that Christian Science solves every problem of daily living, if we but accept and apply its rules, and that then we shall know that we can advance fearlessly, because there is but "one day" in the sight of God.
