The Lectures

Thun, Switzerland (Society).

Lecturer: Miss Lucia C. Coulson; introduced by Walter Weber, who said:—

Ten years ago, when I commenced the study of Christian Science, the Bible was a closed book to me. I had no idea that to those who understood it spiritually it is a never failing source of happiness. Since then I have learned to know Christianity from its practical side, as Christ Jesus taught it. I have learned that to-day, just as thousands of years ago, divine Truth and Love are able to solve our problems. We need only to rely on God, to conform to His commands, and to be willing to acquire a store of knowledge which will lead us away from the belief in an unknown God to the redeeming consciousness of God's omnipresence and omnipotence. Then the great truth will be universally brought to light that in proportion as we are willing to be led, and strive to apply in daily life what we have already learned and understood, all inharmony, whether it be of sickness, fear, worry, business, or other difficulties, can be overcome with the knowledge that God's work is perfect, and can be nothing but perfect. To-day, when so many people, even whole nations, are struggling under extremely adverse circumstances and economic conditions, it may be of especial interest and advantage to everyone to consider the effect of divine strength on human affairs.
