In reply to questions propounded by "Verity" in today's Bulletin, may I say that in Christian Science "the perfect man" is the man God knows; he therefore exists in the divine Mind.

Anticipating the full recognition of this man, Paul wrote, "Then shall I know even as also I am known." The real man is not seen by the material senses, but Christian Science teaches that our human capacities are enlarged and perfected (see Science and Health, p. 258) as we understand the truth about God and the perfect man. Although manifesting progress, no Christian Scientist, not even Mrs. Eddy herself, ever claimed that his or her capacities had reached perfection.

Christian Science is neither hazy nor misleading about God, nor does it deny "the one true, living God of the Bible." In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the textbook of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 340): "The First Commandment is my favorite text. It demonstrates Christian Science."
