I do not know of anyone for whom Christian Science has done more than it has for me, and I am very grateful to Mary Baker Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder. Several years ago I spent an entire summer struggling with the disease called gallstones. The pain was terrific, yet I clung to Truth and finally the distress disappeared, never to return.

On another occasion I spent three months seeking freedom from a succession of carbuncles and bone felons. During this period I passed the nights walking the floor instead of sleeping. These, too, yielded to the knowledge that "the evidence before the corporeal senses is not the Science of immortal man," as Mrs. Eddy says on page 417 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

I have been healed through Christian Science of seasickness, influenza, poisoning which was the result of running a nail into the foot, and have had much help on the questions of employment and financial supply. During the world war, when I was attached to the French army, Christian Science meant to me the preservation of life and the bulwark against sensuality.
