Christian Science was presented to me at a time when there was nothing left in the way of material remedies or methods that could save me from an early grave. From childhood I had never been well, and while attending school I was taken sick with a severe illness which lasted for several months and developed into tuberculosis. The attending physician finally said that he could do nothing more for me; that I should never be well, and could not live long. It was at this time that I decided to try Christian Science. I have now for many years been free from the disease that had held such terror for me. While this particular disease was among the last to disappear, yet during the healing process I was healed of many other ailments, such as bronchitis, rheumatism, catarrh, sore eyes, kidney trouble, and headaches.
One of the healings which stands out distinctly is that of extreme nervousness, in the form of nervous prostration. Through the loving help of a practitioner, I was able to be at my work as a stenographer during this time, and was brought out of darkness and despair into a better understanding of God, which changed my whole viewpoint. With all of these physical healings came a mental regeneration which has made me happier, more contented, and more patient with others who are striving to overcome the errors of sense and to leave the old for the new.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; for class instruction from a loyal teacher; and for the privilege of reading and of serving in other capacities in church work. It is my earnest desire to learn to give as I have received.—(Miss) Mabel Langeland, Watertown, South Dakota.
