A faint glimpse of the healing truth taught in Christian Science...
A faint glimpse of the healing truth taught in Christian Science came to me about nineteen years ago, and it has grown steadily into the bright effulgence of a God-crowned day, bearing witness to the words of God to Moses, "I will make all my goodness pass before thee." The years have brought many experiences and trials, some joyous, others difficult, but all have been blessed. With the steady uprooting of erroneous beliefs and the constant planting of right ideas, there have come to me much happiness and health and a greater trust in God.
My healings have been many: colds, headaches, eczema, neuralgia, a severely sprained ankle, ulcerated teeth, and ptomaine poisoning have all yielded to divine authority. I am most grateful for the freedom from a sense of physical weakness and fatigue which up to a few years ago would often overwhelm me. I have also experienced the removal without pain of a piece of broken jaw bone, which worked its way up and out through the nose. Not least among my blessings is the sense of calmness and courage which comes to me at times of great emergency or sudden need. My greatest joy, however, has come when I have seen my loved ones healed through the truth as taught in Christian Science. The healings of my three children have never ceased to be a source of inspiration and encouragement to me.
Four years ago my eldest son was wonderfully healed of all ill effects following a fall of about thirty feet from the porch roof to the cement driveway below. He landed on one side, and when he was picked up one foot was curled under, the instep entirely out of place. I declared the truth of God's law as ever available, of man as conscious of no displacement, and of Love as ever active for the good of man. Within half an hour he was free of pain, and reading. A practitioner was called and lovingly carried on the work. This accident occurred on a Saturday; on Sunday he was able to walk on the foot, but could not bend the ankle sufficiently to put on a shoe. By Monday the foot was normal, so that he was able to attend school.
