Each day finds me more grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her steadfast, courageous, and patient stand against the scorn and protests of the wrold, and against discouragement at the many problems which presented themselves as arguments for withholding her revelation of Christian Science from a world sunk in bondage to discords of every kind and unable to find the truth which makes free.

Grateful as I am for the many physical healings, among which were organic trouble, ruptured appendix, gallstones, severe burns, sprained ankle, influenza, pneumonia, and many other smaller ailments, which only gave me opportunity to use my knowledge of the truth that is able to meet every human need, I am far more grateful for the spiritual understanding of the Bible, for a demonstrable understanding of the Christ, Truth, and for the knowledge that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 494). The Bible has become a new book to me through the study of our Leader's writings, and each day gives me greater assurance of the quiet confidence which complete reliance on divine Love gives. As I use the understanding I have, I find that I gain more, and become more humble as I find myself able to help others to realize this truth about God and man.

I find that every experience makes me more alert, brings a clearer understanding of God's law and its operation, as well as a closer at-one-ment with the Christ; and I am able to meet the next problem with a certain knowledge of the ever-presence of good, of divine Love, and the knowledge that all I have to change is my thinking: to replace selfpity, self-pride, self-condemnation, and fear with humility, gratitude, and trust, and to lift my thought above the false testimony of the senses; and instead of believing the lie about God and man, I am able to demonstrate the everabundance of good. I am especially grateful for protection on motor trips. I am grateful for all the activities of The Mother Church, and for the branch churches, which are scattered throughout the land, growing and blessing all mankind through their realization of the ever-presence of good. I am grateful for the periodicals, especially The Christian Science Journal, which gives the addresses of these branch churches so that in traveling we can take advantage of the services and the Reading Rooms.
