Christian Science was presented to me twenty-seven...
Christian Science was presented to me twenty-seven years ago, when I was a wreck mentally and physically with nervous prostration. With the help of a practitioner I was healed of this trouble in a few weeks, as well as of all the ills which seemed to go with it, such as heart and stomach trouble, rheumatism, and so forth.
Christian Science has been the only help for myself and my daughters for the past twenty-five years. I have experienced instantaneous healings, also slow healings, which teach us to lean more upon God and less upon personality. Many diseases common to children have been healed through the application of Christian Science. We have found that when we realize the presence of God, all ills vanish.
During an illness, when it seemed that I should never be well again, these words from I Chronicles came to me, "We thank thee, and praise thy glorious name." And with the thought that perhaps one more treatment or one more day would bring my freedom, I was encouraged to keep on praising God for all the beauty I saw in flowers and in the sunshine, and to rejoice because others were free to come and go, until one day God did send an angel to me, and the message was in this form: Hasn't error fooled you long enough? It has no power except what you give it, because God is all-powerful. Then I did awaken enough to see that it was fear and not the so-called physical trouble that was prolonging my illness. Again I renewed my courage to let His will be done, well knowing that it meant to act as possessing all power. This was the beginning of the end of the illness, and each day I gained, until I had no fear of the error, and was healed.
