A Song of Faith

O child of God, awake and hear the promise,
Have faith in God for He will ease thy pain,
Thou need'st not fear, nor ever be discouraged,
For those who strive shall never strive in vain.
Awake to know thy heritage of freedom;
He is thy Life and thou His loved son.
He fills all space and none is there beside Him—
We need but know His perfect work is done.

Be not afraid, thou truly hast dominion
O'er land and sea and all that is therein.
His outstretched arm shall ever go before thee,
His tender love doth pardon every sin.
Have faith in God and thou shalt move each mountain
That human sense hath built of want and woe.
He is all power, no evil shall befall thee;
O child of God, awake! awake and know!
