When I was four years old I was placed in a Christian Science Sunday School, where the teachers tell the pupils what the truth is, and how to apply it. Now I am fourteen, and I realize it is my duty to give a testimony of the blessings I have received.

When I was seven years old and attending a lycee, there was an epidemic of mumps. One day I awoke with pains in my ears. I even had to be absent from classes, as, according to the evidence of the material senses, I had caught this illness. The next day I returned to the lycee. The headmistress saw that my neck was swollen and sent me to the infirmary, telling me not to return for fifteen days, in accordance with the health regulation. The next day, through the help of a Christian Science practitioner, every trace of the difficulty had disappeared. I was healed.

When I was very young I often went to the dentist. My teeth were entirely decayed and caused me more and more suffering. It was hoped that after these first teeth had come out the others would be better. But it was not so. Finally I decided to have Christian Science treatment. I was convinced that Christian Science could heal carious teeth, for all is possible with God. I consulted a practitioner, who told me to work if I felt I had enough understanding, but if I did not have enough to solve this problem it would be better to go to the dentist. Mamma wished to take me to a surgeon; but I refused. I did not speak of my teeth any more, and mamma completely forgot them. This forgetfulness was the first result of my metaphysical work. Soon all suffering disappeared. I did not speak of it to anyone, for fear that doubt and other erroneous beliefs would come in. I denied the evidence of the material senses. At the end of several months the carious teeth had lost their black appearance and filled themselves. I can testify joyfully that now they are in perfect condition, and that even third teeth have grown to take the place of those which had been extracted.
