The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Berlin, Germany (Fourth Church).

Lecturer: Richard J. Davis; introduced by Mrs. Grete Radlow, who said:—

We read in the Bible, "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." All have a desire for good. Christian Science shows us how to obtain this. It is the religion Jesus taught and lived. When I first heard of Christian Science I refused it, although I was a great sufferer. I thought its teaching supernatural and mystical. But later on, at a time of greatest need, when all human means had failed me, I turned to it for help and was quickly healed. At that time I read the following words in a Christian Science pamphlet: "The heart's yearning to grow better is the first prayer which brings us in connection with God." As I had already realized the necessity of improvement, I knew that I was on the right way. My prejudice disappeared, and with joy I gradually recognized that Christian Science is simple, natural, and applicable in daily life.
