I wish to express deep gratitude for all the good that has come into my life since taking up the study of Christian Science. I have experienced many instantaneous healings when the truth, as we are taught in Christian Science, has been properly applied.

The first physical healing I experienced stands out above all the rest, as I had but a small understanding of just how to begin. I was suffering from a very bad sore throat. I suffered one whole day and almost all that night. Then the thought came: What are you going to do about it? You took no material remedy, not even so much as a drink of water; neither did you apply the truth. What do you intend to do? The suggestion came that I did not know how to work. I lay quiet for a while; then I asked to be divinely guided. I said, "Father, I am willing to become as a little child, to do whatever Thou leadest me to do." Quickly this thought came: God never made you have a sore throat, neither does He know anything about it; and with that I dismissed it from thought. I repeated the Lord's Prayer and fell asleep. I awoke at the usual hour, healed. This was in 1918, and there has been no return of the trouble. No one in the family knew that I had been suffering, as I had already learned to obey what Mrs. Eddy says in "No and Yes" (p. 8), "Avoid voicing error."

Months after this healing took place I was reading the chapter "Footsteps of Truth" in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and found the statement (p. 217), "When you have once conquered a diseased condition of the body through Mind, that condition never recurs, and you have won a point in Science." This statement by Mrs. Eddy has been proved many times.
