With a feeling of deepest joy and gratitude I testify to the beneficial effects of Christian Science. I turned to it because of the healing of brain fever which a daughter experienced when she was away at school. At the suggestion of her music teacher a Christian Science practitioner was called. For four weeks she was desperately ill; but on the ninth day after she sat up for the first time, she was in a business offices in San Francisco, where she remained for six months. This healing made a deep impression on her two brothers, her sister, and me, and we all became students of Christian Science.

I was a victim of so-called hereditary sick headaches. Naturally of a lively disposition, when these headaches came upon me I longed to pass on, although several severe illnesses had no such effect upon me. The last sick headache I had came the day before a Thanksgiving Day. I was to leave on the nine o'clock train for my daughter's, but long before that I awoke with a throbbing head. At seven o'clock I telephoned a practitioner, and soon the pain left, but I was so weak that I could not sit up, so in the afternoon I called her again. The practitioner then realized that fear was holding me. She told me to telephone my daughter to have her Thanksgiving dinner at four o'clock, and to say that I would be there. That was what I did, arriving there feeling as well as ever in my life. I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner, and everything connected with it, and although this was many years ago, I have never had a return of those sorely dreaded sick headaches.

Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for the many healings I have had, including the healing of inflammatory rheumatism, influenza, sprained ankle, burns and bruises, fainting, lack, and many other things. I am so grateful to live in this age of Christian Science, to enjoy the Christian Science literature and activities, to be a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church, and to have had the privilege of class instruction from a loyal and devoted teacher.—(Mrs.) Mary Ella Cleveland, Hollywood, California.
