An article in your issue of July 21 gave misleading views concerning Mary Baker Eddy and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," of which Mrs. Eddy is the author, and I should appreciate an opportunity to present accurate date regarding the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and Science and Health.

Mrs. Eddy came from a family of distinction in a community of hardy New Englanders. Her father, respected in his home state, was prominent in church affairs and chaplain of the New Hampshire state militia. Governor Pierce of New Hampshire was his friend and a visitor at his home.

Mrs. Eddy's girlhood studies included moral science, natural philosophy, and ancient languages; and she proved a bright and apt pupil.
