Liberation

The soothing touch, the quiet peace
That comes to us like morning light
When we are willing to release
Our thoughts from self—the darkest night!

Thy strength, O Lord, we need, to shake
From off our hands and feet the chains
That bind in dreams. May we awake
To know more quickly error's claims,
And, like the bird that upward flies,
Above the storm clouds of the air,
Instead of drifting, may we rise
God's child to know, our right declare.
