I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. It was brought to me in a time of great need, when I had tried many material remedies, but with only temporary relief.

Some years ago spinal trouble began to be manifested. My condition gradually became worse until, in 1916, I was urged by friends to try Christian Science. In about two weeks after my first treatment there was a slight change for the better. However, I did not continue having treatment at that time. Several months later, when able to leave my home, I went back to the doctor, and through his advice an X-ray examination was made by a surgeon. According to the surgeon's diagnosis, there was what is called anterior-posterior curvature of the spine, also lateral curvature, and the spine was said to be tubercular. He advised an operation as the only remedy.

I had always had a fear of operations and could not consent to one. Then I turned wholly to Christian Science. My improvement was gradual until the spring of 1918, when I suffered a serious relapse. However, with the help of a practitioner I was able to walk again in a few months. Some years have passed since my complete healing, and some of my friends who do not know anything about Christian Science notice the change that has taken place in me.
