I first heard of Christian Science about three years ago
I first heard of Christian Science about three years ago. I also heard of the wonderful healings and blessings to be had through studying the Bible and the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, but I could hardly believe all that I heard. It was at this time I was asked to call at the home of a Christian Scientist who had had a wonderful healing of a badly broken or fractured spine, after all material remedies and help had failed. I have since experienced many healings through the study of Christian Science.
Shortly after beginning the study I was confined to my home with a severe cold and congestion of the lungs. My wife asked me if she should call a doctor or a Christian Science practitioner. I said, "A practitioner." Two days after the practitioner's visit I was completely healed, and the smoking habit, which I had had for twenty years, and for which I had tried many remedies and material means without any help, left me. I have been healed of sick headaches. Previous to my study of Christian Science I used to have them almost every morning. I also have been healed of a quick and ungovernable temper.
The healing that will always seem to me the most wonderful was of a condition which had every indication of being ulcerations of the stomach. For about five months I never knew what it was to sleep more than three hours at night; sometimes I just walked the floor. I had treatment, but seemed to stay about the same or to become worse. One night, after a hard struggle with error, the practitioner was called to the home. During the visit a sense of hatred that I was holding toward a man who I thought was spitefully using me was uncovered. Love was surely demonstrated in this instance, for I was instantaneously healed when I corrected my thought. I now feel quite willing to apply the Golden Rule toward this man, and find that to give is to have, for I have opened my door to the consciousness of inexhaustible supply.
