My first healing in Christian Science was from an attack...
My first healing in Christian Science was from an attack of neuritis, which occurred years ago. I had been confined to my bed for over a week and grew worse instead of better under competent medical treatment. When a dear friend, a Christian Scientist, suggested that I try Christian Science, I was very willing to try anything that promised relief. A practitioner who was called requested me to memorize "the scientific statement of being" from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 468). During the short time it took me to memorize it I was completely healed, and the healing has proved permanent, although previous to this time I had been subject to frequent attacks.
Some time ago I had a very severe attack of ptomaine poisoning. All pain and fear disappeared during the first treatment, and in a few hours I was completely healed. Again, I fell and broke my wrist. I called a practitioner, and from the time I spoke to him throughout the whole experience I was entirely free from pain, even when the bone was being set. The doctor was very much surprised and could not understand it. This was a wonderful experience for me, for it enabled me to realize more clearly the demonstrable power of Truth as taught in Christian Science.
I am very grateful to the practitioners for their faithful work; but words fail me when I try to express my love for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and my gratitude for that wonderful book, Science and Health, and for the many blessings that have come to me through the study of Christian Science.
