Press-Telegram
A minister's sermon reported in the Press-Telegram of July 14 gave misleading impressions of Christian Science healing and Christian Scientists.
Christ Jesus healed functional and organic diseases by spiritual means, and the Bible quotes the Master as saying, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Mary Baker Eddy discovered the spiritual laws underlying Christ Jesus' healing works, and through utilizing her teachings multitudes have been healed of sickness and disease without resort to any material means.
To those who have thus obtained relief from physical ills, the healings are proofs of the unfailing operation of the law of God, infinite good—the same proofs that Jesus submitted to the disciples of John the Baptist: "Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and to the poor the gospel is preached."
