The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Dayton, Ohio (First Church).

Lecturer: Albert F. Gilmore; introduced by George Burley, who said:—

Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, affirms in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," that man is made in the image and likeness of God. She derives her authority for this statement from the first chapter of Genesis, in the King James Version of the Bible. Then she tells us how to put this into practice in our daily lives. On pages 476 and 477 of the textbook she writes: "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to himwhere sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick."

I am grateful to say that in our home we have been able to prove many times that Christian Science heals. For three generations much suffering was experienced in our family from asthma. This condition was healed in Christian Science.
