Over twenty-six years ago I heard of Christian Science. Previous to this I believed in faith-healing, but never derived much benefit from this belief, because of a lack of understanding of man's relationship to God as His child. Reading newspaper articles and comments, I criticized what I thought was Christian Science. Then a relative was healed of an internal cancer, and it proved to be a permanent healing. This set me thinking, as I was not happy in the false theological thought of God as sending sin, sickness, and death to His children.

When I wanted to know the truth about Christian Science and to apply this truth in my daily life, I began to see and know what God is. I also learned of man's relationship to Him as His idea, and this knowledge brought me much happiness; but it was some time before I sought righteousness before physical healing. Through Jesus' teachings of the Christ, Truth, and Mrs. Eddy's revelation of this Truth, I realized I must seek "first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness."

I have been healed of much wrong thinking, replacing love for hate, kindness for unkindness, cheerfulness for despondency, and seeing good everywhere. In doing this I was striving for the Mind of Christ to fill my consciousness.
