I turned to Christian Science for physical healing more...
I turned to Christian Science for physical healing more than twenty years ago. I had suffered all my life from a disease which at that time affected one of my lungs. Several physicians had treated me, but they gave me no relief. After an unusually hard attack my mother asked me if I would like to go to the home of a friend who had repeatedly suggested Christian Science to us, and have Christian Science treatment. I went alone, little knowing what kind of treatment to expect. To my surprise the practitioner told me of God as Love. I was so benefited physically, and so happy to know something of a heavenly Father who does not afflict, but heals, that as a result of that one visit my parents, two brothers, and I discarded our many medicines and began the study of Christian Science.
The next year, when I entered high school, I was told I had the most capacious lungs of any girl in the group in which I was examined. All through my school years my understanding of Christian Science was most helpful in keeping me healthy and happy, and in solving the many problems which school work presents. Through the understanding of God as Mind and of man as His image, His likeness, so-called difficult subjects became simple, and by reversal human psychology and certain other subjects only helped me to see the unreality of matter and caused me to love more the man of God's creating, pure and perfect.
In my home Christian Science is our only physician. Our three children have never tasted drugs or known medical treatment. My husband and I have availed ourselves of class instruction and are endeavoring to live this great truth to the best of our understanding.
