Christian Science has done so much for me that mere words are inadequate to express my gratitude. My wife and I commenced the study of Christian Science over twenty years ago. We joined a branch church together, and joined The Mother Church about fifteen years ago. Before coming into Christian Science I had no religious belief, but was what is termed a good moral man; that is, I tried to do as nearly right as I knew how, paid my debts, and tried to follow the Golden Rule. I could not accept religion as I heard it taught and preached in those days. When Christian Science was brought to my notice, it appealed to my reason, and it has made a very happy home for us.

Before coming into Christian Science I owned and operated a drug store. Having been a registered pharmacist for twenty years, I knew something of how drugs are supposed to act on the human body. But I was in very poor health, and having exhausted materia medica I was like a drowning man, grasping at anything that offered relief. I suffered from serious stomach trouble and nervous prostration, and practically lived on a prescribed diet for five years or more. I traveled, was treated by specialists, and spent a small fortune seeking health, but to no avail. I was a physical and mental wreck, unable to attend to my business, and life was a burden to me.

My wife was an earnest seeker after truth and wanted me to try Christian Science, of which she had just heard. I had no faith in it, but to please her I took up the study and was healed. It is needless to say that I am truly grateful to Christian Science. I was healed of gallstone attacks instantaneously after suffering over ten years from that disease. A few years ago the nervous prostration came back, and my dear wife was the only one who thought I was going to live. She clung steadfastly to the truth, and that had much to do in bringing about my recovery. I have fully recovered my health, and we are very happy.
