Full of gratitude to our Father-Mother God, I recall the time when Christian Science came into my life. I had often been privileged to witness among relatives and friends beautiful demonstrations of the power of divine Love and Truth, which dissolve all error into nothingness.

I was suddenly attacked by an abscess on my neck; but I knew that error has in reality no power. However, the difficulty did not yield; so I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help, which was at once lovingly given. I had no pain, and what was on the back of my neck I did not see; but those around me saw how the swelling was spreading, and feared that blood poisoning might set in. Well-meaning friends advised an operation, saying I owed that at least to my family. When I replied that God was my Physician and that all are under His protection, it was said that many people had said the same thing and had never recovered. But I knew that the creation of divine Truth and Love can never be poisoned. Error made one last violent attack. I realized, however, that God could save me; and the words, "I will not let thee go, except thou bless me," led to deliverance and to the complete destruction of the error. I am profoundly grateful to our Father-Mother God for this healing, which has given me a fuller understanding of good.

My gratitude is also due to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who, through her life's work, has smoothed the way to freedom for all mankind.
