[Written for the Sentinel]

Truth's Watchman

A watchman, standing on the tower of Truth—
Thus do I like to think of you, dear friend;
Watching for the angelic messages
Which Love unto your waiting thought doth send.
Uplifted, you are safe; the world may gaze,
But cannot touch you in that fortressed tower;
Beyond the range of error you are drawn
Nearer to God, protected by His power.
Your voice, controlled by Love, shall clearly ring,
Your lips distinctly utter Truth's refrain;
It is a healing message that you bring,
And all who hear may inspiration gain.
Your strength is as your day and shall not fail;
Your joy shall by this ministry increase;
Stand on your tower, O watchman of the Lord,
And tell the world of Truth's approaching peace.
