The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Boston, Massachusetts (The Mother Church).

Lecturer: Dr. John M. Tutt; introduced by George Shaw Cook, who said:—

Luke, author of the third Gospel and of the Acts, who accompanied the Apostle Paul on some of his missionary journeys, was referred to by Paul as "the beloved physician." Although Luke makes no mention of healing works done by himself it is a fair inference that when he became a convert to the Christ-way of salvation, he turned from the use of material to the use of spiritual means in healing. In our own time there are many physicians who are turning away from the practice of materia medica to Christian Science as the best way of healing the ills of mankind. We have one such with us to-day—one who for many years has been serving humanity as a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science.
