Lecturer: Peter V. Ross; introduced by Mrs. Lucy H. Schuyler, who said:—

One of the most vivid pictures of my childhood was my first witnessing of a Christian Science healing. My mother was suffering from an attack of appendicitis, and our family doctor brought a famous surgeon to see her, who said that an immediate operation was imperative. This could not be arranged for until the next day because we lived some distance from a hospital and many arrangements had to be made; but during the night my mother was completely and permanently healed by reading a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which had been given her by a friend. As this took place on Christmas Eve you can imagine the rejoicing in our home! The rejoicing over the restoration to health of themselves or their loved ones is a sacred experience which comes into the life of almost every Christian Scientist, and it is a privilege within the reach of all.
