I have received so many blessings in Christian Science...
I have received so many blessings in Christian Science that it is hard to know of which to speak. I came into Christian Science because I had become so discouraged that I could not find anything in life worth living for; but Christian Science has taught me what real Life is. I have had numerous physical healings, of influenza, sprained ankle, colds, and other ills; but although I am very grateful for these, they are as nothing to the peace of mind which has come to me. I am learning to overcome resentment, fear, jealousy, discouragement, and many other false mental conditions; that God is my supply, and that if I turn to Him my every need will be met.
In the passing on of members of my immediate family, none of whom were interested in Science, I have been wonderfully sustained, and have found that God's child is never alone, and that He is ever the loving Father. I have never felt God's presence so clearly as in the first days of separation from my loved ones. In the following months I was able through Christian Science to take steps to go into business for myself, which I would not have had the courage to do without an understanding of Science. It is hard for me to find words to express my gratitude.
One night a short time ago, a very dark night, I backed out of my garage and down the driveway to the road. At the road I had to make a sharp turn to back my car up the street, as just across the road was a ravine and the road was narrow. That particular night I did not make the turn quickly enough, and my car went over the side of the road and part of it hung in space. When I moved, the car started to tip, so I sat perfectly still and did my mental work. Then I called for help; and after what seemed a considerable time I made someone hear me, who telephoned to the garage for help. The garage men came and got me out of the car, but it took five men over two hours to get the car on the road. I know it was not "nerve" but absolute faith in God that took care of me. It was Christian Science that gave me this understanding.
