"Fresh opportunities every hour"

In "Christian Healing" (p. 19) Mrs. Eddy writes, "Tireless Being, patient of man's procrastination, affords him fresh opportunities every hour." As one ponders the words, the thought comes to him of God as infinite, omnipotent Mind, Mind which expresses itself in perfect spiritual ideas; and one is conscious again of the fact of the unalterably perfect nature of God and His creation. The words "tireless Being" also convey the thought of the omniactivity of Mind, Mind unceasingly expressing itself in all that is good.

Christian Science thus makes clear the truth of the allness of God, and declares His perfection and that of His creation, including individual man. Furthermore, it makes plain that God is Spirit, and that His creation is altogether spiritual; and by doing so it denies reality to so-called matter and to all that pertains to matter. Moreover, it shows that man is God's reflection, and that in consequence he is cognizant only of God's ideas. The real man, the image and likeness of God, has no cognizance of matter or of a so-called material creation, no cognizance of any of the so-called phenomena of matter; in other words, God's idea, man, is entirely free from the experiences of sin, disease, and death. Of all these things Christian Scientists are convinced, Christian Science having revealed to them the absolute truth of Being.

When one is certain of God's allness and of man's perfection and completeness as God's idea, and also of the unreality of matter and all material phenomena, existence takes on a very different complexion from what it formerly had. One ceases believing in the unreal, ceases believing he has to submit to evil in any form. Christian Science has presented to him the truths of real Being, and he understands that the opportunity of demonstrating these truths is ever with him. Christian Scientists are deeply grateful in that they can utilize spiritual truth at any moment, anywhere, in the overcoming of whatever is unlike God, good.
