I wish to express my thanks for a demonstration of the power of Christian Science to heal double pneumonia and pleurisy, accompanied by hemorrhage of the nose and deafness. The attack seemed very sudden and severe. I am very thankful I was able to obtain the help of a good and faithful practitioner, who did splendid work for me throughout. My wish was to rely solely on Christian Science treatment, which I knew was more powerful than any material remedy,—being the power of God,—so no doctor was called in. I am also very grateful for the services of a well-trained Christian Science nurse. I feel that not having to meet medical theories or antagonistic beliefs was a help to my recovery. I had had the same trouble twice before under medical treatment; and although it was many years ago, I was able to recognize the symptoms sufficiently to see how wonderfully they were overcome by Christian Science. They passed as a dream, which they really were.

I feel I owe my life to Christian Science, the medical opinion being that the lungs had been damaged by the severity of the two previous attacks. I hope now to prove what Mrs. Eddy says on page 217 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "When you have once conquered a diseased condition of the body through Mind, that condition never recurs, and you have won a point in Science."I am grateful for this experience, as it showed me that the power of God to help is always with us, even when apparently in "the valley of the shadow of death." I felt as did Job: "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee." I am also grateful for the comfort I experienced from some of the hymns (especially during the long watches of the night), which I had never fully appreciated before, and later on for what seemed to me wonderful Lesson-Sermons on Life, Truth, and Love in the Christian Science Quarterly.

I have had good demonstrations of painless extraction of wisdom teeth under exceedingly difficult conditions, with practically no discomfort afterwards. I am thankful also for a great measure of relief from pain due to arthritis and rheumatism.—
