It was in May, 1926, that I underwent an operation for an internal trouble. Two weeks after the operation I was worse than before. So I borrowed the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and read it and the Bible. When I saw the lines in the ninth chapter of Matthew, "Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house," I was healed that moment.

Severe cases of influenza have been met and overcome for my husband, our two children, and myself. I rejoice over the spiritual regeneration that I am experiencing, and know that through Christian Science I have found God. I am more grateful for Christian Science than words are capable of expressing; but I hope by living and working aright to express in some measure the thankfulness that my heart feels. I shall always remember the sentence in Science and Health (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."
