I want to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science...
I want to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science through one of our valuable periodicals. I have been studying this wonderful truth as revealed by Mrs. Eddy for about ten years, and whenever I have faithfully applied it to any problem, it has never failed to help me. About two years ago I was attacked one day with a headache so severe that I was obliged to go to bed. I was going on a journey the following day, which necessitated getting up early in the morning. By three o'clock in the morning I had not been able to sleep at all, or even to lie still. My mother then read me passages out of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and also the one hundred and fourth psalm. When she had finished reading, although I still felt very ill, I fell asleep, and I awoke at half past six perfectly healed; and not only was I healed, but I felt as fresh as if I had had a good night's rest.
Again, a few months later, I had a sick headache, so that I went to bed directly after breakfast. I was unable to help myself or read, and by the afternoon I was very much worse. My mother then came to tell me she was going to give me some help in Christian Science. She opened the Bible to the sixtieth chapter of Isaiah and read the first verse, which runs, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee," with the result that I fell asleep for an hour and a half and awoke healed. I at once dressed and came downstairs. I offered up a sincere prayer of gratitude to God for this healing. Before hearing of Christian Science I used to suffer with these headaches a great deal. I am glad to be able to testify that through the help of Christian Science these attacks are practically a thing of the past.
I obtain a great deal of help from the articles in our periodicals. I find Christian Science such a practicla religion. No difficulty is too small or too great to be overcome if we only bring into use God's law as we are taught in Christian Science.—(Miss) Florence Joyce Nicholson, Thorpe Bay, Essex, England.
