I am very grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me. I took up the study of it because of my fear during the world war. I had been taught as a child that there would be a world war, and then the end of the world. I did not believe this, but here was the world war.

I had heard a great deal about Christian Science, most of which I thought was very far-fetched. At this time of need, however, I wanted to know more about what it taught. I bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and began eagerly to search its pages. It told so many things I had always wanted to believe were true. It seemed indeed like a cup of cold water to one who is thirsty. I did not grasp much of the truth contained therein, but each day, as I read, certain passages would unfold and I would get a glimpse of the wonderful things God had given man, His image and likeness.

During this study I forgot the world war and the end of the world theory. I found the true second coming of Christ, or Truth. I was so grateful to find the loving and good God, who is infinite Love, instead of a God who is an enlarged man who sees evil as well as good. Great was my joy when I found that we are God's children, and that He really loves us and takes care of us. As I have gained a greater understanding of this blessed truth I have learned to love the Bible and God's children more.
