It is almost impossible for those of us who have received...

It is almost impossible for those of us who have received repeated and clear evidence of the healing and saving power of Christianity, through the light thrown on the sacred Scriptures by Christian Science, adequately to express our gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy. My life has undergone a remarkable change, and my home has recently been blessed beyond measure. For this change my wife and I have to acknowledge our deep gratitude to Christian Science and to several loving and earnest workers who practice this Science in this city.

My attention was first drawn to Christian Science about eighteen years ago. At that time I was a confirmed agnostic. For all these years I have tried to apply this teaching to the conduct of my affairs, and where and when I have striven honestly and faithfully it has never failed me. Some years ago, in India, I was instantly healed of an attack of malarial fever after the ague stage had actually started. No material drug extant can do this, and I speak thus from long and very bitter experience. Those who may have been in the tropics will appreciate what this healing means. I have never had an attack of malaria since.

About a year before I retired from the Indian Forest Service, the Government of Bombay was kind enough to select me to report on the Gir Forests of the Junagahr State, in the Province of Kathiawar. This forest area is about one thousand square miles in extent and is very inaccessibly situated and practically uninhabited. I was able to give myself only two months in which to submit my professional opinion, and there was no time to be lost, owing to the advent of the hot weather and the consequent difficulty in securing drinking water.
