Before I heard of Christian Science I was sick or tired most of the time, and often said my only wish was for good health. One day a lady handed me some copies of the Christian Science Sentinel to read. I thought Christian Science was lovely to read, but did not think one could live it. Later a friend lent me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I read it whenever I had the time. It was not until years after I became interested in Christian Science that I remembered going to a doctor and being told I was healed; whereas before, he had told me he could not heal me. Then I realized, after learning more about what Christian Science could do and was doing for mankind, that I had been healed through reading that wonderful, inspired book, Science and Health. I am truly grateful to the lady who first handed me Christian Science literature to read, and I hope she may see this testimony.

It was many years after that, however, before I was ready to study Christian Science. After I moved to Torrington someone told me that a neighbor went to a Christian Science church, and the thought came that I would ask her for something to read. From then on I began in earnest, and I have received many healings.

I must express gratitude for the loving practitioners. One lady talked to me so lovingly and kindly, that as I sat there so still listening, I could feel myself change; and I was healed of a difficulty that had troubled me as long as I could remember. I have not been bothered with it since—over six years ago.
