Christian Scientists
should ever be mindful of the important fact that the world as a rule bases its estimate of the faith they profess upon the manner in which it is presented and lived by themselves.

we will pause to examine ourselves and very humbly look back over the way we have come, we shall see that when we have experienced failure instead of winning the expected victory, it has oftentimes been because we have had too much confidence in ourselves and have failed to obey the divine commandments.
Gratitude
has long been recognized as a quality of true Christianity, an esential part of Christlike character.

is the result of the realization of harmonious activity in the spiritual universe.

the student of Christian Science calls upon a practitioner for aid, in the seeker's consciousness there is usually the desire for some definite result to be brought about.

In the "To-day" column of a recent issue of the Times statements appear concerning the teachings of Christian Science, for the correction of which I would be pleased to have you allow space.

The medical writer in a recent issue of the California Monthly who condemns and ridicules the various systems of healing which differ from his own, and who also disparages the judgment of persons who exercise their right to choose remedial aid other than that he himself espouses, makes several statements which show that he is badly informed and under a complete misapprehension with respect to the teaching and practice of Christian Science.

Perhaps
no phase of Jesus' incomparable message to the world has a deeper significance than his revelation of God as Spirit, infinite, ever present, and all-powerful.
There are, perhaps, no words of Shakespeare more widely known than these which proclaim the beauty and desirability of divine mercy; and all certainly are wise who cherish this quality in their heart of hearts, allowing it to bring forth fruit after its own kind.
Wonderful
it is to think that the children of Israel came to understand the loving-kindness of God as they did, came to apprehend in no small degree the fact that God is Love! One has only to study the psalms, those songs of the Hebrews, to notice how strong their conviction of God's loving-kindness had become, and because of it how they were learning to place their trust in His protecting care.
