The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Hamilton, Ohio (Second Church).

Lecturer: Dr. John M. Tutt; introduced by Horace C. Shank, who said:—

Christian Science reveals the God who is Life, Truth, and Love; He is also divine Principle, demonstrable in our daily lives, and infinite Mind, the source of an inexhaustible supply of health, harmony, and happiness. Christian Science is a practical religion, a religion for all classes and conditions of men. It heals the sick, reforms the sinner, and furnishes an abundance to all who seek "first the kindom of God, and his righteousness." It enables us to think well, to live well, and to be well, As one of the many who have benefited by this divine Science I am grateful that I have been healed of the liquor habit, of the cigarette habit, and of other discordant mental and physical conditions; that I am gaining an understanding of the supremacy of Truth over error, of the allness of God, good, and of the nothingness of evil, and, to use the words of Mrs. Eddy as found on page 568 of her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," of "a sweet and certain sense that God is Love." The consciousness of the healing power of Truth and the protecting power of divine Love is the most wonderful thing that can come into a man's life. It is "the forever coming of Christ" (Science and Health, p. 230) to the receptive heart.
