Some years ago, while on a street car, I commenced telling a friend, whom I had known but a short time, about a so-called incurable disease which had attacked a very dear relative of mine. This friend replied that there are no incurable diseases. I asked for proof of such a statement, and a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was lent me. Through reading this book I soon learned that all error, whether of sickness or of sin, can be cast out—cured.
Through Christian Science treatment I have been healed of scarlet fever, receiving proof that a period of convalescence is not necessary, as the latter part of this healing was instantaneous. While I was quarantined, most of the time was spent in studying the Bible and our textbook. Thus true activity was not obstructed. On another occasion influenza and its after effects were cured in the course of a few weeks. Two years later a case of fever was healed instantaneously through the love reflected by the two other members of our home, both Christian Scientists, no actual treatment being asked for or given.
By learning to some extent to let God guide, as Christian Science teaches, also that evil, so called, is not real and has no power, since God is good and the only power, I have received many blessings. I have been happily married and have a pleasant home. Supply has always been received when required, sometimes in most unexpected ways. The truth about God and man has been steadily unfolding to me through the study of the Bible, Mrs. Eddy's writings, and other authorized Christian Science literature, and application of it made to my daily problems.
