I send this testimony in gratitude for the saving power of Christian Science. I have been studying this teaching for seven years, and have had many wonderful healings.

On the seventh of Novermber, 1924, I went to open a large window, and as I was attempting to push down the top half a little, the cords broke, and the window dropped, trapping my hand. The first thing I did was to declare the truth, and at once the thought came that this was for the glory of God. We live a little way from the highroad, and in a very quiet place. I got on to the ledge inside, and tried to lift the window, but it would not move. I called to my mother, but the door had closed, and she did not hear. I knew all the time God would help me, and I had no fear. I just realized what Mrs. Eddy has said in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (see page 393), that there was no more sensation in my hand than in the wood; and I had no pain. Standing on the window ledge, I saw two young gentlemen on the highroad, one of whom I knew to be a student of Christian Science. I called him; and on his inquiring what he could do for me, asked him to ring the bell and tell my mother that my hand was fast. He rang three times, but at last had to go around to the back. When he told my mother she said, "There are no accidents with God." He then came up to me, but could not move the window. Two other gentlemen came with a long ladder, and lifted the window from the outside. They asked if my hand were broken, to which I replied, "No;" and I thanked them for their kindness. I put the hand at my side, and walking to the bathroom turned on the hot-water tap. I was going to put my hand under it when the thought came that I had no need to do that; so I turned off the tap, and got a clean rag which I wrapped loosely around the hand, not looking at it to make a mental picture, for I had beautiful thoughts from the Bible and our textbook that pushed out all error. I can truthfully say I had no pain or inconvenience through it, only blessing; for it showed me how I had improved since having class instruction.

This incident was a great wonder to others in the house, and made a deep impression on one who was suffering much pain at that time under medical treatment. I had a short talk with him, and the next day showed him part of my hand, telling him why I had no pain. He said it was wonderful, decided to use no more ointments, and soon was well.
